Lindy Hop er en av de opprinnelige swingdansene som oppstod blant den afroamerikanske befolkningen i Harlem på slutten av 1920-tallet, og utviklet seg i takt med den levende jazzmusikken på den tiden. Dansen var veldig populær på slutten av 1930-tallet og tidlig på 1940-tallet. I dag er Lindy Hop en populær dans med workshoper og arrangementer verden over.

I Lindy Hop er gleden er i fokus. Det er en sosial dans, hvor det å møte nye mennesker, å danse og å ha det gøy med musikken er det viktigste. Vi håper flere vil lære seg Lindy Hop, så kom og dans med oss! Vi starter nye kurs hvert semester. På våre nybegynnerkurs trenger du verken partner eller tidligere danseerfaring. I tillegg til kurs har vi sosiale sammenkomster, dansekvelder og en årlig workshop som vanligvis arrangeres på Senja.

The Lindy hop is one of the original swing dances which was born in African-American communities in the Harlem ballrooms late 1920s and evolved with the live jazz music of that time. It was very popular during the swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Nowadays Lindy Hop is a wide world popular dance with workshops and events in most parts of the world.  

Lindy hop is a dance where the joy of dancing is in focus. Most importantly, it is a social dance where meeting new people, dancing, and having fun with the music is the most important thing. We would love for more people to know this great dance, so come join us! At the beginning of each semester, we start new courses. In our beginners course, you don’t need to bring a partner or have any previous dance experience. In addition to courses we have social gatherings, dance evenings and an annual workshop that usually takes place on the Senja island.
